.. was to make a splash.

“I would not waste my life in friction when it could be turned into momentum.”
-Francis Millard
One of my prized posessions.
I’ve got advice in here from friends (but mainly) teachers dating from all the way back to when I was in grade 5.

"Perpetual optimism is a force multiplier."

I wish I could freeze time.

“Happiness is not a matter of intensity but of balance, order, rhythm and harmony.”
-Thomas Merton
Key word in my life for now.

Starbucks says they are going to start putting religious quotes on cups.
The very first one will say, ‘Jesus! This cup is expensive!’
-Conan O’Brien
A few weeks ago I realized I love the hot chocolate here a lot more than Tim Horton’s.
Uh-oh.
Met up w/ a few friends from High School here. It was truly odd to be here with them.
Hundreds of miles away from where we first met.
Project 365.175
“This was the place where everyone came. We had a game room with a pool table. Sometimes kids would be here for two or three days before we had to send them home.”
-Rob Marvelle
What a fun activity to photograph!
The past few days an old friend from High School was visiting. Went to play pool after the longest time.
He gave me an idea of for a new set.
Pictures coming soon.
Day 174, Water, originally uploaded by asadc.
Project 365.174
“Don’t you realize that the ocean is the home of water? All water is off on a journey unless it’s in the ocean, and it’s homesick, and bound to make its way home someday.”
-Zora Hurston
How I feel about where I will end up in life. Inspired by water. The lights looked neat.
Project 365.173
“My life is very exciting now. Nostalgia for what? It’s like climbing a staircase. I’m on the top of the staircase, I look behind and see the steps. That’s where I was. We’re here right now. Tomorrow, we’ll be someplace else. So why nostalgia?”
-Jeanne Moreau
A late night at the library.
I liked this along with a few more that will go in my “Project 365 highlights” album.
Day 172.5, Thoughts and Adventures, originally uploaded by asadc.
Project 365.172.0
“Courage is what it takes to stand up and speak; courage is also what it takes to sit down and listen.”
-Winston Churchill
He is one of my favorite figures to quote and I have a couple of books about him waiting to be read.
Day 172.0, Master Squirrel, originally uploaded by asadc.
Project 365.172.0
“If we had a keen vision of all that is ordinary in human life, it would be like hearing the grass grow or the squirrel’s heart beat, and we should die of that roar which is the other side of silence.”
-George Eliot
I call him Cody.
He won the staring contest this time.
He doesn’t look too suspicious in this picture but he generally scares me when I’m walking outside my building by “popping” up.
He also likes to eat carrots and props them up so they look like cigars.
Don’t fear the robots.
Fear the squirrels.
(in Kingston anyways.)
Project 365.171
“Tell me and I’ll forget; show me and I may remember; involve me and I’ll understand.”
-Chinese Proverb
Pictured in this, is one of my best friend’s at University.
This was shot before Physics class started.
I have taken a lot of pictures in this class.
Mostly of experiments.
The professor is hilarious, eccentric and quite comfortable with me taking notes with the camera at the ready.
I will be shooting in B&W the next few days as a “challenge”.
Pictures are much harder to compose in B&W.
I’m off to go running after a rather long time.
Project 365.170
"Look and think before opening the shutter. The heart and mind are the true lens of the camera."
-Yousuf Karsh
I spent 9 hours in the Library today. Glued to a chair and my physics books.
Can’t wait to get to the library again.
Didn’t have much time for photography today.
Will be using a Nikon the next few days.
Project 365.169
“And when it rains on your parade, look up rather than down. Without the rain, there would be no rainbow.quot;
-Gilbert K. Chesterton
I woke up this morning to see the snow had turned into rain.
As I typed this up, the rain turned into snow.
Change is ever-present.
Project 365.168.5
“And thank you for a house full of people I love.
Amen.”
-Terri Guillemets
Went downtown to catch the bus back to University.
This shot jumped at me.
There are a few other pictures from today that I will be uploading later which are a lot more powerful.
Day 168.0, See’in the Partial Side, originally uploaded by asadc.

“Architecture has recorded the great ideas of the human race. Not only every religious symbol, but every human thought has its page in that vast book.”
-Victor Hugo
I present to you, the CN tower.
(hope you caught the play on words. I’m rather bad with it, so if you can think of a better one feel free to comment.)
Project 365.167.5
“You don’t choose your family. They are God’s gift to you, as you are to them.”
-Desmond Tutu
Got caught up playing Monopoly with my younger brothers yesterday.
I had a lot of work to get through, but I’m glad I spared the time. Got some really nice pictures. (of them and the board.)
Family memories are the best.
Especially if a photographer documents them through the years. (Generally my dad.)
Found in the confines of my memory.
Day 165, Always in Motion, originally uploaded by asadc.

Picked it up while I was a tourist in Malaysia about two years ago. Wish I’d been there as a ‘photographer’.
A little bit about me.
